AUSTRALIA DAY AND YOUR PETS

Australia Day is right around the corner, which means that many of us are busy prepping for big parties with our friends, family and pets. 

While us Aussie’s like nothing better then a good excuse to have a party, there are a few things to take into consideration if you are planning on involving your dogs, and pets, in the celebrations.

1.  Ensure the Party, or Venue, is Pet Friendly!

If you are attending or throwing your party somewhere public, ensure that it is dog friendly. 

Call ahead to check, and if you are in doubt, just leave them at home where they feel comfortable.

Of course, if you do take them, have some water, a bowl, and some leads as well, to make sure that they are restrained and have enough water.....  remember, your pets DON"T drink alcohol!!!!  They need water....

2.  Is There shade?

Australia is still pretty hot all over but don't take for granted if there is going to be enough shade for your pet.  Once again, make the time to check before you get there.....  If it's at someones place, ask.....  If it is in a public area, take a look at google maps, or some other app, which will give you an indication of what the shade situation is going to be like?

3.  Water!

Make sure there is plenty of water......  It's more than that though!  

Your dog, and your pet, needs to be able to access it!

So take your own bowls so that your dog can easily have a drink....

4.  Be Aware of Food Options at the Party!

The typical Aussie BBQ has an array of delicious goodies for your puppy....

Whilst they are appealing to your K9 friends, it is important to note that many of the goodies aren’t actually very healthy for them.

At the very least, be aware what they are eating and how much of it they are actually consuming!

An even better option is to actually take some dog friendly treats so they can enjoy themselves and you don’t need to worry about them getting sick.
