PETS AT WORK?
We love our pets…..and they love our pet treats!!!!
A review published by the British Journal of Health and Psychology in 2007 suggested that pet owners tend to be healthier in general.
But does this translate into a healthier work environment too?
How many of you are lucky enough to have your pets at work with you?
Well, apparently, studies being conducted around the world suggest there are some very real health benefits for having our pets at work with us.
Pets at work seem to:
- Reduce stress amongst people
- Those who take a dog for a walk in their break come back more motivated and more positive.
- Helps lower blood pressure
- Increase morale
- Increase staff interaction
- Increase staff collaboration
- Reduce heart rates
AND so on………
But it’s not just great for us……. It’s also great for our pets.
You see, dogs in particular, really miss us when we are at work and they are left alone…..
So by coming to work they-
1.Tend not to get bored,
2.They don’t pine for us,
3.They don’t suffer stress because of being left alone.
4.They don’t destroy our things around the home……so are less destructive
5. And they just love the social interaction. In fact, they thrive off it…….. Because they are pack animals!
All makes perfect sense doesn’t it?
I know when we, at the factory, have our dogs at work, it seems like it has a positive effect on everyone……We all seem to enjoy the experience.
Understandable though; it’s just not practical for pets to be in a work environment in many places. However, it is awesome to think that society is evolving to a point where pets can be accepted in the work place if that such work place is safe for them, and for us……
We truly live in an exciting world……….
These points can also be extended to our holidays. Many places are pet friendly now and that is just a great thing…….
However, many times it simply isn’t possible to take your pet with you…….
By simply leaving them for an extended time, be it a weekend or a week, it is stressful enough……then removing them from their home can be even more stressful…….so if they can’t go with you, and it is appropriate and safe for them to stay in their own environment, why not try and use our friends at YOUR HOME MY HOME.
They offer a great service which can allow you, as well as your pet, to have a stress free holiday………which is the whole idea of a holiday right????
